Top 5 Breakfast Restaurants, Sequim, WA

If you are planning to enjoy Sequim for the day, what better way to start than a delicious breakfast at a local restaurant. As always, we choose our restaurants not only based on how yummy their food is but also how family friendly the restaurant is and if our kids enjoy the food and atmosphere as well.

5. Old Mill Cafe

The Old Mill Cafe is located on the outskirts of Sequim in the Carlsborg area. This is a local favorite and can get busy quickly during peak season. While their menu isn't huge, the food is delicious. They have traditional style breakfasts, pancakes, 3 kinds of Benedicts and more. They also serve Mimosas and Bloody Mary's for mom and dad.

4. Black Bear Diner

I try not to put chain restaurants on my lists of Top Restaurants, but Black Bear Diner is definitely a favorite of the kiddos. They love the bear carvings and the large pond outside the restaurant (and I love the little retail area). The food is always consistent and comes out pretty quickly. If they are slammed and we have to wait a bit, we just take the kids outside and they explore the pond. They have a large selection of different breakfast items to choose from. Cinnamon roll pancakes to Chicken Fried Steak, there is always something for everyone. They also do breakfast all day, so if you are craving biscuits and gravy for lunch, consider Black Bear Diner.

3. Sunshine Cafe

Sunshine Cafe is right in downtown Sequim. If you don't luck out finding parking in front of the restaurant, you may have to walk a bit after parking in a public parking lot. Being right in downtown though, you are sure to walk by some cute shops or delicious cupcake bakeries. The restaurant was recently renovated and looks great. It's a bit small in size, and being a local favorite, can get crowded quickly. We love the Cathy Joe and Eggs Benedict (we are big Eggs Benedict fans if you haven't noticed). Their waffles and French toast are always yummy as well, and always a hit with the kids. They also have a selection of toys for the kids to play with while they wait. I'm not sure if they are out during Covid, but they come in handy when needing a distraction for the little ones. (I always travel with disinfecting wipes, so Covid or not, I usually disinfect the toys prior to giving them to baby). All in all, great food, great service and kid-approved!

2. Oak Table Cafe

The Oak Table Cafe serves the best breakfast in the area, hands down. The atmosphere is a bit more upscale than 101 diner and their food a bit more decadent. Their German pancake is so delicious, and if you order the Apple pancake, make sure others in your party want to share, it is seriously 1 step away from being a full Apple Pie. Their bacon is always cooked absolutely perfect and is a must order for bacon lovers! Their Egg dishes are always delicious as well. We love the Eggs Benedict and their Breakfast Platters. Don't forget a glass of fresh squeezed juice or coffee to wash it all down.

1. Hi-way 101 diner

While Hi-Way 101 diner might not have the most decadent food, their food is always delicious and consistent. Their pancakes are yummy, especially with their house made buttermilk syrup- yum! The service is always friendly and very fast. They have silver dollar pancakes for the kiddos and delicious pull-aparts! Their fresh squeezed Orange Juice is always refreshing, and if you are up for it early in the morning, their Milkshakes are some of the best in the area (try the Oreo Shake- Yum). The decor is 50's style and always a hit with the kids. This place gets the #1 spot because it's always delicious and consistent, and I love the speed of service. The kids don't get too fidgety since the food always comes out quickly.
