We visited Longbeach on a whim in 2019. We knew nothing about the town, besides the claim of being the "World's Longest Beach". We were excited to start exploring and finding out what the town had to offer.
We stayed at the Inn at Discovery Coast and they had a few fun Scavenger Hunts for their guests. It was a fun easy way to start our adventure and really get to know the town we were visiting.
We enjoy walking downtown in any place we travel so that was one of the first things we did. One of the first things the kids saw was of course the Carnival Rides at THE RIDES at Longbeach (which was one of the scavenger hunt activities- yay). While we didn't go there right away since our hungry tummies were leading the way, we did return.
When we arrived, since we were apparently visiting in shoulder season, there were no staff selling tickets to the rides. There was a sign to buy them at the store next door so we headed over to get our tickets. When we returned, we found 1 or 2 staff members running the whole place. They informed us that if we wanted to ride a specific ride to just let them know and they would be over to start it up. There was only 1 other family there besides us making bumper cars a little boring (but perfect for our little man's first run).
We enjoyed the carousel, Ferris Wheel, Bumper Cars, Car Go Round and more. We were able to enjoy the bumper cars twice. The first time there were other customers riding with us, the second time, since no one else was there, the ride operator hopped in to give us a little more excitement. The staff was wonderful and enjoyed watching the kids have fun. They were very accommodating and quick to open whatever ride we wanted to try.
It's a small amusement park but definitely fun for the kids! It was a bit strange that it was so quiet but that just meant No LINES, No CROWDS! We had a blast and will definitely be back!
