Top 5 Dinner Restaurants Port Angeles

As a parent, I sometimes long for a quiet, nice romantic dinner with just me and my husband. Then reality sets in and I realize those nights are few and far between. We do love to go out to dinner though, so most of the time the kids are coming with. They enjoy the experience too, but we do make our decision on where to eat with the kids in mind. You just can't go to your fancy white tablecloth dinner with kids tagging along. If you are traveling in Port Angeles, here are our tried and true family friendly, kid-approved restaurants:

115 E. Railroad Ave. Suite 207 Port Angeles (360)452-2700

Located in the Landing mall next to the City Pier, this casual dining restaurant overlooks the Straight of Juan De Fuca. Their menu is pretty extensive compared to other restaurants in the area. They have burgers, sandwiches, pastas, seafood, steak and more. There is bound to be something for every appetite.

Their kids menu is rather small, with 4 typical kids items available. The same goes for pretty much every restaurant in Port Angeles. If the kids aren't interested in the typical kids fare, we usually split meals between them or share ours, especially at steak and seafood restaurants since they love steak and prawns.

Their dessert menu is one of the largest in the area with the Pazookie being a favorite (who doesn't like a warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream-YUM)

The restaurant itself is large and rather spread out which we like when eating out with our kids. We also love the water view. When the kids get antsy, have them scan the water for whales, sea lions or otters.

205 E 8th St. Suite B Port Angeles (360)452-8434

If you love Mexican Food, this is the best Mexican Restaurant in town. The fun, colorful decorations, make it a restaurant the kids like to visit.

Of course chips and salsa right after you arrive puts a smile on the kids' faces every time. (Snacks before dinner? YAY). They always bring a mild salsa and a spicy one and the kids always end up hogging the mild salsa-it's so delicious!

I have never had anything I didn't like here, but the Chile Colorado is always my favorite while my husband loves their Fajita Burritos. The children's menu consists of 7 items and during the Weekends, the kids' meals are discounted to $3.95, a great deal.

They also have a Cantina next door for that needed Margarita at the end of a busy day. If you aren't feeling like an adult beverage, try their non-alcoholic smoothies! They are so delicious, with so many flavors to mix and match, adults and kids love them!

134 W Front St. Port Angeles (360)477-4315

This restaurant is wonderful because of it's entertainment value. The kids have THE BEST time eating here. It's like dinner and a show with many laughs and enjoyment all around!

The restaurant has 2 different sides. When you arrive, you must tell them which side your are wanting to dine on. They have the Hibachi Side and the regular dining side. You want to pick the Hibachi Side! I believe you can order anything on the menu from the Hibachi side, and vice versa, but if you dine on the Hibachi side, you get the entertainment.

If you do choose Hibachi, you are seated around a large flat cooktop. Usually they wait a little bit for the table to fill up. The chef then comes out and takes everyone's order. All orders come with stir fried veggies, salad, soup and fried rice. They do have kid portions as well for a great price. Once the orders are taken, he preps all the food and brings it out. That's when the fun begins!

The chef will cook right in front of you. With many fun antics that will bring on the laughs. Such as catch an egg in your mouth, steaming onion volcanoes and more. It is definately a fun experience and one that the kids won't forget!

The food is good and you get A LOT of it, that's for sure. Plan on taking quite a bit of it home since the kids will be too excited to eat a lot!

2. Spruce

128 E Front St. Port Angeles (360)504-2951

Spruce is a rather small restaurant in downtown Port Angeles. When you look inside, you might not think "kid friendly", but the staff and owners make this one of our favorite places to dine with the kids. We tend to not order off the kids menu since our son is in love with their Peel and Eat Shrimp and the littler ones just share what we have or we order them a small plate of fried chicken. We love their Fried Chicken and Peel and Eat Shrimp (we could eat their Peel and Eat EVERY DAY!-YUM). Their sauerkraut is such a good compliment for almost everything on their menu and I would definitely suggest to order a side of it if you like sauerkraut.

If you are a burger lover, their burgers are super juicy and oh so delicious, especially with their fries!

Their menu has changed a bit since Covid and we are hoping it changes back once Covid is no longer a worry. They used to have avocado toast which was so good (but probably not good for take out).

They also have a full bar and assortment of kids drinks.

Their location is also great for an after dinner walk. It's only 1 block to the City Pier, great for sunset watching or getting that last bit of energy out of the kiddos.

203 E. Front St. Port Angeles (360)457-6040

Kokopelli is our favorite restaurant in Port Angeles. The food is always consistent and the service friendly and timely. It's a bit fancier than some of the other restaurants on this list, which can sometimes be stressful (is the little man going to have a meltdown? lol). Maybe it's because of the fast service, or multiple courses, the kids always seem to be engaged in eating, or talking about the food with little time for tantrums in between.

They always have a Fresh Sheet which is a must check since they sometimes have items such as bacon wrapped jumbo prawns or Halibut topped with Dungeness Crab. Their regular menu includes seafood, steak, chicken, salads and more. Every entree is served with either soup or salad. We love their house salad with Ranch dressing. It's not like your typical side salad; with spring greens, nuts, and dried cranberries, it brings side salads to a whole new level. Prior to the soup and salad course, they will bring out bread with their house-made whipped butter that is so yummy. The best way to tame hungry tummies while they wait for their meal.

For the kids, they always love the chicken strips. We always get an extra order and ask them to bring it out first and all share it as an appetizer- they are THAT good!

They have an extensive drink menu as well as a full bar, and if you like Sangria, they make their own in house. The drink menu also has many non-alcoholic options with juice mixes and smoothies, great for kids and adults alike.

Their dessert menu is always delicious with their lime Creme Brulee being one of our favorite desserts in the whole town!

If you have the time, you definitely want to try out this restaurant..especially if you love seafood and steak!

If you have eaten at any of these great restaurants, please comment with your experience and favorite dish!
